1966 Ferrari 330 GT S2 2+2

Only 455 units of this elegant Pininfarina-designed grand tourer were built.

Supplied by Maranello Concessionaires and first registered on May 3rd 1966, this very special Ferrari was initially the personal car of Colonel Ronnie Hoare, founder of Maranello Concessionaires.

Bought used Mr JB Almond of Wigan Lancs who owned the car for a number of years before it passed through a series of ownerships during which the car was damaged and repainted. In the late 1970’s it was bought by noted Ferrari specialist Terry Hoyle who ran it for a few years then rebuilt the car returning it to the original blue with Borrani wheels.
Today this Ferrari 330 GT is undergoing a detailed bare metal restoration at Bell Sport & Classic for a noted Ferrari collector. The final spec. includes a very special pale gold Oro Nashrullah.

The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series II

The 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series II represents Ferrari at its most civilized — a grand tourer built not for the racetrack, but for crossing continents at speed and in style.
For series 2, out went the controversial quad headlights of the early cars, in came a cleaner dual-headlamp arrangement that gave the car a more cohesive, mature face.
Under its long, elegant bonnet sits a 4.0-liter V12 producing around 300 horsepower and paired, in Series II form, with a proper 5-speed manual gearbox and as importantly, disc brakes at all four corners.

Inside, the 2+2 layout made the car genuinely usable — rear seats suitable for children or luggage, beautifully trimmed leather, rich wood accents, and a level of comfort unusual for Ferrari at the time.

In many ways, the 330 GT 2+2 Series II is Ferrari’s quiet gentleman — confident, refined, and effortlessly fast.

Styled by Pininfarina and built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, the design reflected understated elegance rather than overt aggression. Clean lines, a wide stance, and a spacious glasshouse gives the car a commanding road presence.

Today, it stands as one of the marque’s most dignified and usable classic V12 Ferraris — a refined, understated expression of Maranello’s grand touring philosophy at its peak.
