Aston Martin DB5
A most authentic restoration to original factory specification
Beautifully restored to its original specification, this is a superb example of an Aston Martin DB5 is what many consider to be the most iconic of all British grand tourers. Stripped down to its ‘Superleggera’ framework during restoration, the car is now presented in Vantage Specification in its original metallic Sierra Blue paintwork and black Connolly leather upholstery and Wilton carpets and is an outstanding demonstration of authentic restorative craftsmanship.
This car was first registered on 1 January 1965. Built with a ZF 5-speed gearbox, the factory ’build sheet’ records the car being finished in Sierra Blue, a dark metallic blue, with black Connolly leather upholstery, chrome wheels with ‘3-ear’ hubs, a heated rear screen and a Motorola radio and power aerial.
This superb restoration is testimony to the high degree of craftsmanship needed to return a car to ‘better than new’ condition. The interior has been retrimmed with new Connolly leather and all the chromework has been refurbished. The car was stripped back to its chassis and the Superleggera framework before being painstakingly rebuilt in our workshops.
The body was replaced with a new skin, once the chassis has been fully repaired, powder coated and internally Wax Oyled for maximum protection.
All mechanical components have been rebuilt and restored to the highest standards. The engine has been converted to Vantage specification with triple Weber carburettors and uprated camshafts, as well as bearing the Vantage script on the front wing air vents.
The engine was rebuilt, fully balanced and blueprinted, with a fast road cam, improved oil cooler and ceramic coated exhaust manifold to keep the engine compartment cool. The engine was optimised on the flowbench and Dyno to deliver the ultimate package in power and performance. Air conditioning was also installed along with a period radio for aesthetic appeal, but with modern internals.
An outstanding example of this iconic car.
