Bell Sport & Classic Completes Restoration Of Rare Ferrari 275 GTB 6C Short Nose Ahead of Heveningham Concours Debut

Bell Sport & Classic’s restoration of the 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB 6C ‘Short Nose’ has now reached a landmark moment, with the car’s build and shakedown complete and final concours detailing underway ahead of its first public appearance at Heveningham Concours at the end of June.

A hugely significant early 275 GTB, this car is one of just 11 UK-supplied, right-hand-drive examples specified from new with the more powerful six-carburettor engine set-up. Finished in its original Rosso Cina over Nero VM8500 hide, it represents one of the rarest and most desirable configurations of Ferrari’s defining mid-1960s Berlinetta.

The 275 GTB marked a major technical step forward for Ferrari’s front-engined road cars, combining the 3.3-litre Colombo V12 with independent rear suspension and a rear-mounted transaxle gearbox.

In short-nose, six-carburettor form and particularly as a UK-delivered right-hand-drive car it sits among the most coveted variants of the model.

Following a full nut-and-bolt, concours-level restoration by Bell Sport & Classic, the car has now successfully completed its final on road shakedown moves into the final painstaking stage of preparation: the Concours detailing needed to presentation such a significant Ferrari at the highest level.

Its debut at Heveningham Concours is a fitting return to the public world. Staged at Heveningham Hall in Suffolk, the concours is by invitation only and brings together around 50 of the world’s finest motor cars on the hall’s stunning Lancelot “Capability” Brown designed terraced lawns. For a freshly restored 275 GTB of this rarity and importance, it represents the ideal first public showing.

For Bell Sport & Classic, the occasion marks the culmination of a major restoration project and the return of an exceptional Ferrari to the concours field.

Not simply rebuilt, but restored to the standard, accuracy and presence demanded by one of the most significant road-going Ferraris of its era.
