1987 Ferrari 328 GTS… UK RHD
Today’s extremely technical, F1-inspired Modern range of V8 engined Ferrari’s can trace their lineage directly back through five generations to the 328, which was the ultimate variant of the “attainable” two-seat, V-8-powered Ferrari in the 1980s. Not as commonplace as the 308, nor as polarizing as the Mondial and Testarossa, the 328 hits the sweet spot where Ferrari’s legendary performance, Pininfarina beauty, modern comforts and relative affordability converge.
The 328 was the final evolution of the 308 GTB that debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show. Itself introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in autumn 1985, the 328 bore a number of changes that separated it from the final 308 Quattrovalvole models. What didn’t change was its basic appearance–thanks to the 308’s fame, this was universally recognizable as a Ferrari!–and the fact that, like its immediate predecessors, the 328 was also available in GTB (Berlinetta, or solid-roof) and GTS (Spider, or open-top) body styles.
Our example offered here at Bell Sport & Classic, is a lovely 1987 example of the 328 GTS, finished in the classic Rosso Corsa, with Cream interior. A pre-ABS example, nicely presented, & fitted with the ever popular ‘Tubi’ style sports exhaust, ensuring the mid mounted V8 is always on top form.
Having covered just 34,000 miles, this Ferrari is barely run in, & ready to be enjoyed by it’s next custodian. Accompanied by the original bookpack, tools & keys, along with a lovely service history, this car is ready to go & great value today. One of the true ‘Analogue’ Ferrari’s.
