Vehicle Description
Finished in Abarth factory grey with red side stripes and red chequered roof. Front Abarth shield and enamel scorpion badge. Understood to have been a factory ‘Cliente’ race car it retains all the original features including a very rare AH cylinder block. Maintained to exceptional condition, the car is immediately drivable, both as a road and competition car.

Built by Abarth & Co in 1967, this 1000 Berlina Corsa (“racing saloon”) conforms to the Group 2 regulations then in use. The car is thought to have been a ‘cliente’ car when new, being raced mostly in Italian hill-climbing during the 1970’s.

After being acquired by Tony Berni (the renowned Italian Abarth specialist), the car was restored by Leo Aumuller in Germany. The vehicle retains all its original fittings and fixtures including a very rare AH cylinder block.

Full stripped and repainted in 2021 (Autowerx), in recent years, this 1000 has benefited from regular service work by Abarth specialists Middle Barton Garage and most recently Bell Sport & Classic.

This beautiful Abarth 1000 Berlina Corsa is presented for sale with road legal exhaust, rear seat, original magnesium alloy wheels and original 5th gear.

Raucous, lairy and hilarious, this is an archetypal example of the breed - an original, proper Group 2 car from 1967 and a lot of bang for your buck, to say nothing of loads of fun.
