The SV Roadster arrived as the most dramatic open version of that early Aventador generation - the spiritual successor to the great Miura SV, Diablo SV and Murciélago SV, but with the added significance of being the first series-production open-top Lamborghini to wear the SuperVeloce name.

Lamborghini limited the SV Roadster to 500 units worldwide (compared with 600 SV coupés) with only around 65 units for the UK.

At its heart is Lamborghini’s 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 750 hp at 8,400 rpm driving all four wheels through Lamborghini’s single-clutch 7-speed ISR transmission, giving 0–62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 217 mph.

The SV package was not simply a power upgrade. Against the standard Aventador Roadster, it brought weight reduction, a more aggressive aero package, increased carbon-fibre content, fixed rear wing, revised front splitter and diffuser, magnetorheological pushrod suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, sharper chassis settings and a more focused cabin.

The Roadster’s two-piece carbon roof can be removed and stored in the front compartment, which means the car retains genuine open-air usability without losing the full visual drama of the coupé.

The SV Roadster is a spectacularly physical car. Compared with the standard Aventador Roadster, it feels harder-edged, more urgent and much more focused. The engine dominates the experience: huge low-rev theatre, savage mid-range response and a top-end that feels properly exotic rather than merely fast. With the roof off, the V12 becomes the whole event.

The Aventador SV Roadster is one of the most compelling modern Lamborghinis: limited, loud, naturally aspirated, open-topped and visually outrageous. It is not subtle, not especially refined and not as technically polished as an SVJ, but that is precisely its appeal. For the right buyer, it offers the essential Aventador experience in one of its purest and most collectible forms: a low volume, hardcore, full-fat, open-top V12 SuperVeloce.
