The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was introduced as the replacement to the 275 GTB/4 with the intention of competing against Lamborghini’s formidable Miura. Sleek and modern Pininfarina lines (from a young Leonardo Fioravanti, who would go on to pen many other Ferraris including the 512 BB, 308 GTB, 288 GTO and F40) were matched by a development of the 4.4-litre V12 engine and produced a car of rare balance which guaranteed a unique driving experience. Many fans know it by its unofficial name of “Daytona” a name supposedly in recognition of the Ferrari 1-2-3 victory in the Daytona 24-Hour Race in 1967.

The 365 GTB/4 (‘365’ denoting the engines displacement in cubic centimeters per cylinder and ‘4’ denoting its number of overhead camshafts) featured a 4,390cc dry sump lubricated engine that produced an impressive 347 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, could achieve 0-60 mph in just 5.4 seconds and had a monstrous top speed of 174mph!

The now iconic body was designed by Pininfarina and constructed by Scaglietti – even more aggressive in appearance than its predecessor, with the long and sharp, almost shark-like sweeping nose, set-back cabin section and abrupt angled Kamm tail with a pair of twin circular light units above each quarter bumper.

The car is currently undergoing Ferrari Classiche Certification.
